Healing with the equine experience.

Our Mission

At Kindle Hill Foundation, our mission is to support members of our community who can benefit from equine assisted learning and therapy, to relieve stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Horses are natural healers, and they can help us to break through resistance, and find the motivation to develop and grow. We are fortunate to have such kind and willing partners.

Horses are the greatest healers.

Our Programs

Our proactive EAL (Equine Assisted Learning) and EAT (Equine Assisted Therapy) programs understand our client’s personal and professional challenges.

They are designed to provide effective avenues of mental health support, with the goals of reclaiming lives and relationships and, in many cases, for first responders to return safely and effectively to work.

Why Horses?

Many individuals are uncomfortable, unable, or afraid to express their emotions. Regardless of the reason, the resistance creates a barrier to moving forward. Introducing the partnership of a horse during a learning or therapy session can help break down this resistance. Horses are authentic—they excel in teaching us how to be present and connect through different modes of communication. They also provide instant feedback on our interactions with them. Even though many people have never had the opportunity to interact with a horse, when they start to engage with them, they begin to relax, feel safe, and realize they are in a genuinely non-judgmental environment, allowing their journey toward healing to begin.

  • Our EAL program focuses on sharpening and developing life skills such as leadership, nonverbal communication, dealing with difficult people, empathy, social interactions, self-confidence, negotiation, partnering, and self-care and relaxation.

  • Our EAT program is complementary to talk therapy, medication, and alternative methods like EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  Sessions are facilitated with a licensed professional counselor.
